Ketchum Elementary is collaborating with Mrs. Woods and her KHS Spanish students to bring Spanish instruction to Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students. The high school students will provide Spanish instruction every other Friday as part of their Spanish class. This will be beneficial to all involved! You have a deeper understanding of something when you are asked to teach it. We are thankful for Mrs. Woods and her willingness to accommodate our students.
Their first classes were Friday, November 10th. Some students learned numbers and some were introduced to the Spanish vowel sounds.
The Blue Ribbon School of Excellence process was the catalyst in the implementation of the Spanish program at KES. This was one area we needed to address immediately, so we didn’t waste any time. We are excited at the possibilities this opens up for our elementary students as tHe program builds.
