Joe Gramlich

Principal

Mr. Gramlich graduated from Van Buren High School in 1988. He attended the University of Arkansas At Little Rock. He then transferred to Northeastern State University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Science. He soon took a job as a Cost Accountant with Inland Container Corporation. After one year with Inland he went back to Northeastern and received a Teaching Certificate and then his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. After teaching Science and coaching eleven years at Fairland, Joe is currently the Principal at Ketchum High School. Joe enjoys the outdoors with golfing and hunting as his primary leisure activities

Kelly Greene

Secretary

Kelly Greene graduated rom Carpio High School in Carpio , North Dakota . She graduated from North Dakota State University with a certification as a Registered Medical Assistant. Kelly worked in the medical and banking field for the next 11 years. She came to the school district in 1997 has working in a variety of different capacities. Greene is currently the High School Secretary and she keeps the high school running smoothly. She is also the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Sponsor. Kelly is very active in her church, Langley Baptist Church , and she enjoys camping and singing with Cornerstone Gospel Group. She is married to Clark and they have 4 children: Justin, 25, Kayla, 21, Jesse, 17, Emily, 12.

Melanie Sanders

Counselor

Melanie Sanders grew up in Oklahoma City. She married her husband Robert in 1989 and they both moved to the Vinita area. She graduated from Missouri Southern University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Education in the area of Psychology and Special Education. She attended Northeastern State University and earned her Master's Degree in School Counseling. Melanie and Robert have two boys, Allan who is 16 years old and Collin who is 13 years old. She keeps busy in her free time serving at First Baptist Church of Vinita.

Debra Hatler

History Teacher

Debra Hatler is a graduate of Pryor High School.  She received her Secondary Education Degree from Northeastern State University and has been employed at Ketchum High School since 1973.  She taught junior high social studies for 15 years and American History, Oklahoma History, World History, Government, and Advanced Government for twenty years at the high school.  She is also the Student Council Advisor and Senior Class Sponsor.  She belongs to Professional Educators Association of Ketchum (PEAK), Oklahoma Education Association (OEA), National Education Association (NEA), ELKS, and Veteran Auxiliary of Pryor.  Her son, J.B., graduated from Ketchum in 2001.

Mark Knoten

History Teacher

Mark Knoten is a 1992 graduate of Edison High School in Tulsa, OK and received a Secondary Education degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1997. Before coming to Ketchum Knoten taught and coached baseball and football at Glenpool High School in Glenpool, OK for 7 years. He has been employed in the district since 2005 and is currently teaching World History and the head baseball and softball coach. Knoten is an active member of Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (OBCA), National Baseball Coaches Association (NBCA), and Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA). He is married to Kate, High School Principal. They have two children: Brock, 13, and Cannon, 1 year.

Jerald Churchill

History Teacher

 Jerald Churchill graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1974 and from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1977.  He has been employed by the Ketchum School District since August of 2007.  He teaches World History, Government, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, and Street Law.  He is a former United States Army JAG Officer and is a member of the Oklahoma and California B.A.R. Associations.

Joe Weaver

Science Teacher

Joe Weaver graduated from Afton High School in 1989, and later received his Bachelors Degree from NSU.  He is currently working on his Masters Degree.  Currently in his fourth year teaching, Joe teaches a handful of classes including Physical Science, Biology II, Earth Science, Chemistry, and sponsors the Science Club.  Hunting and camping are just a few of the activities he enjoys with his family, wife, Amy, and their 3 children.

Jennifer Turner

 Science Teacher

Jennifer Turner graduated from White Oak High School . She went on to attend Northeastern Oklahoma A & M in Miami, Oklahoma for 2 years and Northwestern State University in Alva, Oklahoma for 2 years attaining a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Science Education. She went to college on rodeo scholarships and competed for both schools. From there she went to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma to work on her Masters Degree.

Ketchum High School was her first teaching job. She taught there for one year before moving to the Middle School five years ago,  where she taught 7th and 8th Grade Science. In 2009 she returned to join the staff at the High School to teach Biology I, Biology II, Anatomy and Physiology.

She has a husband named Justin and still enjoys to rodeo and train barrel horses in her free time. She is now pursuing her Masters Degree in School Administration.

Kandi Osburn

English Teacher

Kandi Osburn graduated from Miami High School in 1999. She received her associates degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami . In 2004, she received her bachelors degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. She is currently obtaining her Masters Degree through Southern Nazarene University with a degree in School Administration. In July 2005, Kandi was hired by Ketchum Public Schools as an 8th grade Language Arts teacher. She serves as a co-leader to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at the middle school. She is currently in her 4th year of teaching. Kandi is married to Clay Osburn who teaches and coaches at Vinita Middle School . They have a daughter named Addison and are expecting another this summer. She enjoys spending time with her family and shopping. She and her family are active members of Miami Friends Church .

Shannon Altom

English Teacher

Ms. Altom graduated from Olive High School (yes, that is in Oklahoma- west of Tulsa) and went on to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where she double-majored and earned her Bachelors Degrees in Journalism and Speech. Upon graduation, Ms. Altom moved around between Tulsa and Breckenridge, CO. before finally settling in the Grand Lake area in 1998. In 2005, Ms. Altom earned her teaching certificate and came to Ketchum High School where she has taught Speech, Drama, 9th grade English and 11th grade English. Currently, Ms. Altom teaches 11th and 12th grade English and AP English courses in Literature and Language. Ms. Altom has two children, Troy and Carson, attending Ketchum Schools.

Sam Banker

Math Teacher

Sam Banker is a 2001 graduate of Ketchum High School and received a Secondary Education degree from Northeaster State University in 2005. This is Bankers 3rd year at Ketchum and has previously been the assistant basketball coach. Coach Banker is currently teaching Geometry and the assistant softball and baseball coach. He is an active member of Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (OBCA), National Baseball Coaches Association (NBCA), and Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA). Sam is married to Amber, also Ketchum alumni, and they have a newborn son, Adam.

J.K. Wayne

Math Teacher

JK Wayne is a 1985 graduate of Wynona High School in Wynona, OK. He received his Bachelors degree from Northeaster State University in 1990. Previous to coming to Ketchum Coach Wayne taught at Wynona for 5 years, Hominy for 9 years, and has been at Ketchum since 2004. Wayne currently serves as the Athletic Director, Head Girls Basketball Coach, Slow Pitch Softball Coach, and Math teacher. He is an active member of Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) and Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association (OGBCA). When JK is not busy he enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his wife Lori, daughter Beth, and son, Kenyon.

Athena Grimes

Math Teacher

Mrs. Grimes is a 2003 graduate of Ketchum High School. She received her Associate in Secondary Education from Rogers State University in 2005 and her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Northeastern State University in 2008. Mrs. Grimes is a member of NOMSTA (Northeastern Oklahoma Mathematics and Science Teacher Association), Professional Educators Association of Ketchum (PEAK), Oklahoma Education Association (OEA), and National Education Association (NEA). Mrs. Grimes is the upper math teacher and has been at Ketchum since 2008. Also, she is one of the freshmen sponsors. She is married with two children: Alexia and Stone..

Joey Headrick

Computer Teacher

 

Coach Headrick is a 2001 graduate of Adair High School. He received his Bachelors degree from Northeastern State University in 2006. This is his 2nd year at Ketchum Schools, and he currently serves as the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, and Computer teacher. When I am not busy I enjoy hunting, golfing, and spending time with my wife Crystal, and three wonderful dogs.

Lee Ann Coyne

Band Director

Lee Ann graduated from Miami High School in 1979.  She went on to earn an Associates Degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Bachelors from Oklahoma State University in 1983.  She did graduate work at West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania.  Before joining the KHS staff, Lee Ann spent 1 year at both Seneca, MO and Commerce, OK.  She has led the music program here for 8 years.  In addition to leading the KHS Band and Choir, Lee Ann also drives a bus, teaches drivers education, serves as Professional Development Chair, and Junior Class Sponsor.  Ms. Coyne is a member of a number of state and national organizations, such as Northeast Band Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, Oklahoma Choral Directors Association, and is an active member of Oklahoma Education Association.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working puzzles, sewing, and painting.  Her son Kieran, 10, also attends Ketchum.

Ashley Keeton

Family and Cosumer Science Teacher

Currently, in her third year at Ketchum High School, Ms. Keeton is the Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher and FCCLA Advisor.  A graduate of Grove High School, Ashley earned a bachelors degree from Northeastern State University with a Major in Family and Consumer Sciences and a minor in Family Relations and Child development.  She came to Ketchum in 2007 from Cabool Missouri where she spent her first year teaching.  Ashley is a member of numerous professional organizations including Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Educators and is a member of the National Association of Career and Technology Educators.  She serves on numerous committees for her professional organization on the state and national level.  In 2009 she was nominated by OATFACS as the Oklahoma New Professional Family and Consumer Science Teacher. Ashley is excited about the opportunity to represent our state at the national convention in Nashville this year.  Away from school she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog Harley.

Jay Rector

Director of Special Services

Mr. Rector is a 1975 graduate of Tulsa Memorial High School, and received his Bachelors Degree in 2005 from Northeastern State University.  Prior to joining the KHS Staff, Mr. Rector held various jobs including positions with Frontier Airlines and Air Cargo Associates.  He also served on the City Council and Planning Commission for Jenks.  When away from school he and his wife of 15 years, Rhonda, enjoy spending time on the lake.

Jessica Hill

Special Education Department

Jessica Hill graduated from Ketchum High School in 1995.  She is currently working on acquiring her Special Education degree.  She has previously attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Rogers State College in Claremore, Oklahoma; Carl Albert State College in Poteau, Oklahoma; and Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.  She was an assistant coach for the Special Olympics in 2008 and 2009. She has two children, Zoey 6 and Bella 4, who also attend Ketchum Public Schools.  In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and off roading.

Brandon Midgley

Librarian

 Mr. Midgley is a 1990 graduate of Adair High School in Adair , Oklahoma .  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1994.  After working for several years, Mr. Midgley went back to school at Northeastern State University and received his Masters degree in Library Media and Information Technology in 2005.  He was hired as a teacher at Ketchum High School that same year where he has taught English III and IV, Journalism I & II, Oklahoma History, Government, Algebra II, Desktop Publishing, and Yearbook.  Mr. Midgley became the high school and middle school librarian in 2007.  He sponsors the high school Academic Team and the National Honor Society. He also coordinates End-of-Instruction testing for the high school. Mr. Midgley is a member of the Oklahoma Library Association (OLA) and the American Library Association / Young Adult Library Services Association ( ALA / YALSA).

Qwen Inman
Alternative Education Teacher

 

Mrs. Inman has rejoined the Ketchum Staff after spending three years teaching Adult Education for Mayes, Craig, Ottawa, and Delaware Counties.  She also spent 14 years teaching elementary in Spavinaw and Ketchum.  Qwen received both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Northeastern State University after graduating high school in Riverton, Kansas.  She is a member of OEA, NEA, and PEAK.  As loyal Ketchum fans, you can find Qwen, and husband Robi, at many school events, when they arent attending rodeos.  She has two children, Robi Jo, a 2008 graduate of KHS, and Quinton, Seventh Grade.
