  Elementary Counselor

Lori Moss
I feel so blessed to be a part of the Ketchum Public School System. In 2004 I was excited to have the opportunity to become the Elementary and Middle School Counselor. Since that time it has been a joy to become acquainted with the students, teachers, and community.

I was born in a small town at the base of the Black Hills in Newcastle, Wyoming. I am the youngest of four children. When I was 8 years old, my family bought the John Deere Dealership in Vinita and we moved from Wyoming to Oklahoma.

I started my teaching career when I was an elementary student. My stuffed animals and dolls were my students. I taught them whatever lesson my teacher had taught me at school each day. I’ve always had a passion for teaching and after my son was born, my dream of becoming a certified teacher of real students began to become a reality. At that time, I started working on my degree and soon graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah with a double major. I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I taught 3rd grade in Vinita for nine years. After being in the regular classroom, I went back to Northeastern State University to obtain my Master of Education in Counseling so that I could become Counselor at Ketchum.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Rod Moss. We have two children. Trey is a graduate of USAO in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and will be attending Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky this fall and MaKenzi is a Junior at Vinita High School. I love spending time with my family, serving on various committees in my church, reading and working in my flowers in the summer.
